Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, @americanair and the @dallasmavs once again partnered to host the 19th annual Seats for Heroes event on Thursday, honoring our nation’s military heroes.

🛫 American Airlines brought more than 100 wounded and ill service members receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio to Dallas for a day of fun and exclusive experiences.

🥩 The group was treated to a special dinner hosted by Chef Samir, where they enjoyed a menu featuring several dishes, including oxtail and wagyu empanadas, jumbo lump curried crab cakes, Mishima Reserve tenderloin, prime rib, and a Dallas Mavericks-themed seven-layer cake.

🏀 After dinner, the service members headed straight to the American Airlines Center, where they received pregame VIP treatment before taking their courtside seats to watch the Dallas Mavericks take on the Utah Jazz! The heroes attended a meet-and-greet session with Mavericks players after the game.

“Supporting these brave individuals is an honor, and their contributions and commitment to our community should be celebrated,” said Nick & Sam’s Majority Owner and Partner Sam Romano, and Corporate Chef and Partner Samir Dhurandhar in a joint statement. “We are deeply proud to participate in a night that highlights their incredible strength.”

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s 14th Annual Dinner: A Night of Champions successfully rallied 350 North Texans at the Fashion Industry Gallery on November 14, helping the organization shatter its $485,000 goal by raising an incredible $495,369.

The gala’s mission is to honor, recognize, and celebrate IBD champions who are making a difference in the community. This year’s recipients included Sam Romano and Chef Samir Dhurandhar of Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, who earned the Corporate Champion: Catalyst for Community Engagement.

“It’s an honor to be a part of a giving community. Every bit that we raise is one step closer to finding better treatments for patients, and hopefully one day, a cure,” said Chef Samir Dhurandhar. “None of this would be possible without the generosity of North Texans.”
